Challenge
The primary challenge in creating the Japanese Lawyer using LLM was ensuring that the model could encode and decode Japanese texts. For this reason ‘Elyza-7B’ was used as the LLM behind this project. Another challenge was to accurately interpret and respond to a wide range of legal questions in Japanese. Legal texts are complex and require precise understanding and interpretation. Additionally, setting up a flexible system that allows users to change the model's knowledge base posed a significant challenge.
Solution
To address these challenges, the following solutions were implemented:
Comprehensive Knowledge Base Creation by placing all legal texts in a directory, users can create a robust knowledge base using an Embedding model. The knowledge base is stored a vector database and using similarity match any necessary legal text that is necessary can be retrieved to answer the question
Configurable Hyper-parameters adjustments to vector chunk size, overlap, separator, and model paths can be done to ensure the model operates optimally and is tailored to specific needs.
Installment process is fairly easy. After cretaing a virtual environment and installing necessary packages, this product can be used
Running the application is straightforward with a single command, As Flask was used to develop the application, deployment is easy and UI is user friendly.
